Aircraft Maintenance Management?
I'm an Air Force Maintenance Officer with 15 years in right now. All of my career has been on the flightline leading the maintenance effort. I was wondering how/if it was possible to get a job in an airline maintenance management position after I retire in 5+ years.....are jobs like that available out there? Thanks...

There are plenty of jobs available. I work with several retired military personnel who are taking advantage of their military experience in the commercial aviation industry (and double-dipping too). One thing though, you will need your A&P license if you plan to be involved in the supervision of maintenance activities. We have other people that are not directly involved in the conduct of maintenance that are not licensed...instructors, planners, materiel management, customer liaison, marketing, etc.
If you already have your A&P, start taking classes in program/project management, general business and accounting. If you don't have your A&P, get it first, then get the rest. With these things, you opportunities will surprise you.

Plan on getting you I/A too.
Most of the DOM jobs I see posted require that you have an I/A also.
