Airport Capacity

Wed May 10, 2000 9:35 pm

I read an article yesterday in a Montreal newspaper in which it was written that YUL could handle up to 77 flights an hour. I wonder how it's calculated ? YUL has 3 runways, which are :
9600 * 200 for 06R/24L
11000 * 200 for 06L/24R
7000 * 150 for 10/28.
The parallel runways (06/24) are at least 1 mile apart. The runway design ressembles the greek letter PI, with 10/28 being at the top.

Could someone tell me the "formula" they use to come up with that number (77) ? Thank you.
