Delta maintenance at Indy?

Can anyone explain the Delta maintenance program with outside MRO services? What is the relationship with Indy? And with the expansion of FedEx will Delta bring more Aircraft to Indianapolis?

I wish I knew what you are talking about. What do you mean by MRO services (company)? Not sure what the relationship with Indy is other than Delta does fly there. Why would any FedEx expansion there matter at all to Delta. It might be possible that Delta contracts routine overnight maintenance to a contractor there but they do most all maintenance in house with their Tech Ops or contracted heavy maintenance at a few locations around the world.

Delta currently does not send aircraft for MRO work at IND. The did do some of the 757 interior mods a few years ago at AAR, but those are now complete.

I believe DL still does some mods at IND with the help of AAR, just not year-round

I looked at the preplan today. nothing is showing for AAR IND for the rest of 2018. That could change, but nothing as of now in the six month.

Perhaps he sees Republic planes in Delta paint at their hangar bay next to AAR

They have done some of the heaviest checks on the 738 fleet in the past.


Last time I looked Delta let’s flightstar/aeroman and ST aero do most of the work on the narrow bodies


Oh and the Aeromexico JV obviously.
