Emirates 777-200 Reconfiguration Video

Wed Jul 11, 2018 3:36 pm

I thought this video was interesting because it shows the process of taking out all the existing interior of a large aircraft and putting in a new one.

Those are engineers. Certain engineering grades wear epaulettes.

They're not pilot uniforms. They're senior engineer uniforms. Notice the bars on the epaulettes are narrower.

I found that strange also. I've only seen that in the shipping world.

Not pilots, Aircraft Engineers. They are almost as qualified as a pilots, hence the uniforms. but they work on the ground repairing and maintaining the aircraft etc. They are essential for this part of the reconfigurations as there is lot of physical changes to the aircraft and also to the electrical systems that need a strict monitoring of the Aircraft engineer to ensure compliance and also to assist if some issue crops up.
