Mx personnel working in Canada
Anyone out here from Maintenance/Engineering in Canada. Wanted to know who is the regulatory authority out there and compared to the US how is the work culture?

Aircraft Maintenance in Canada is overseen by Transport Canada. Working culture is pretty good from what I've seen (I'm not an AME but worked closely with the M&E department of an airline for several years). There are 4 categories of license for an AME; M1/M2/E/S. M1 applies to regular maintenance of aircraft that are non-turbojet powered. M2 is for jet powered aircraft. E is for avionics specialists and S is for structures specialists. AFAIK, you only have one designation on your license.

While working in Maintenance Control at United I came into contact with quite a few AME's in Canada, A surprising number of them also held US A&P licenses as well. Wright International, and Skytech were some of the contractors we worked with in Canada. And?
