B707 Kueger Sequence

Tue Apr 10, 2018 11:17 am

Later models had 13 Kruegers on the Leading Edge.

they are sequenced on both extension and retraction, but it is not the same sequence.

the extension sequence seems to be 1,2,4,5,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 from Youtube video

I assume you cannot extend or retract at the same time, because of aerodynamic issues - having all Kruegers in the "Barn-door" position at the same time cannot be good for lift

does anyone know ...

Why the sequence is different between extension and retraction ?

and

How are they actuated / controlled ? not by a single drive shaft I assume ?
thanks in advance,

They were hydraulic powered with their own actuators and I don't remember any sequence involved, it was possibly the hydraulic pressure that caused that.

The bus that takes the FO to the plane

That was the actual last question on my 727 FE oral exam at Continental

I was stumped, thinking about truck driving
school until the examiner started laughing
and let me in on the joke

Best wishes TB
