Inlet Guide Vanes on Military Engines: In or Out?

Wed Mar 14, 2018 12:15 pm

The Typhoon's EJ200 engine deleted inlet guide vanes and it was said to be an advance...but then the F119 and F135 kept them...

Are IGV's a thing of the past...or of the future?...

What makes you think those engines are that much more advanced than the EJ200?
