Just wondering how airlines like UA, SW, G4 etc. are handling the introduction of used aircraft into their fleet. Will the a/c totally reconfigured with new seats, carpets etc. - or just the seat covers changed? What will happen to the different types of galleys, location of toilets and safety equipment?
UA will take over some HA B767 in the near future - will there maybe a change in service on those aircrafts, if e.g. the galleys are too small to handle the UA catering products? And will UA reconfigure the aircrafts with PTV, as HA is only offering an In-Flight Entertainment Tablets for rent?

Every airline handles it differently.
Having flow several Southwest used purchases of late, it is a total strip down and installation of Southwest galleys, lavs, carpet, seats, etc. Having worked a few for my current employer in the past I would say depending on the previous configuration, this would require floor beam replacements and or repairs.

G4 changes out the seats and carpets. They also reconfigure the galleys a bit and remove coffee makers and ovens. Sidewalls and overhead bins are left alone.
When they first started with the A319s from EasyJet, they were left essentially as-is, but they have all been transitioned over now.

Did a ton of Livery changes in the 80's. A plane came in and the interior is stripped out of it and sent to the interior shop for livery change/refurb while maintenance, repaint and carrier specific Engineering Orders are performed in the hanger. Seats, galleys, sidewalls, ceiling panels etc were generally reused with the new customers livery colors etc. Seats and PSU's were usually re-pitched to the customers LOPA. (Layout Of Passenger Accommodations)
