Additional landing lights

Sun Nov 12, 2017 12:09 pm

By chance I noticed that (just some...?) Pobeda B738 have additional landing lights on the underside of the fuselage and on the nose gear strut. ... C2HnLwY%3D

I assume, that this is a special feature to order - preferably for operations in the far northern hemisphere with a long period of darkness during half a year. Does anyone know what other operators currently have 737's with that feature? Some "western" ones also?
This is your pilot speaking. Welcome to flight one from here to there. We'll be flying at a height of ten feet, going up to twelve and a half feet if we see anything big. My copilot today is a flask of coffee.

Those were standard landing lights for older 737NGs. The newer planes coming off the line have an LED array assembly in the wing leading edge which does away with the nose gear and under-fuselage lights.
This plane is built to withstand anything... except a bad pilot.
