Requesting information about Pilatus PC 12NG

Wed Nov 01, 2017 9:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a very specific question aimed for those who have quite some experience with planes; how much maximum fuel can I dump onto the plane, if I were to remove all the seats, luggage, etc and fit massive fuel tanks to the bottom of the cabin.

The Pilatus website says 1300 kilos of cargo weight and 1200 kilos of fuel. I am hoping that I can push this limit even further, I just need to know how far can I go.

Thank you

Talk to the people that install and certify the ferry tanks. The STC should state what you can achieve.

I know for a fact the airplane can only be approved to 130% MTOW on a FAA Ferry Permit with an "approved ferry tank system".
The PC12NG has a cavernous cabin so my thinking is you will not need to remove all seats to exceed that MTOW of 9900lbs.
Remember payload on PC12 is around 3200lb and 2800 of those is fuel since she takes close to 400gal.
I reckon if FAA approved her to 130% you could double the range by installing another 400gal in the cabin that should give you 2600nm of range or much more you need to do longest overwater leg anywhere in the world!
