CSeries 100/300: Comparison/Integration With Airbus's Product Line

Wed Oct 18, 2017 6:47 am

How does the CSeries 100/300 compare with the A319/A320CEO/NEO?

From a quick and rough analysis, it seems the CSeries aircraft:

- Offer similar payload capacity;
- Lack some range; and
- Have substantially lower OEW.

How little/much overlap is there between the two manufacturers' product range?

Can we expect Airbus to discontinue the A319CEO/NEO in the near future?

How will the CSeries integrate into Airbus's narrowbody portfolio to maximise sales of both product ranges and avoid cannibalisation if any?

I think the A319 is dead at this point. A320 family will evolve into A320-321-322. With a CS500 we may even see the A320 disappear in time. In terms of overlap, the CS300 and A319 certainly are direct competitors, hence my point. That said, the A319LR may still have a place, albeit niche.
