Pratt & Whitney JT3D or GE CF6-80C2 materials

Sun Oct 08, 2017 7:25 pm

What are the materials used in Pratt & Whitney JT3D or GE CF6-80C2 engine parts (compressor, turbine, exhaust, combustion chamber, gear box, blade). Do you know if these parts need the stuff they made? (for example, Ti64 is used in the fan) thanks..

If you are still looking for information both of these papers have some useful details in them about the use of titanium in the JT3D. If you can't find/get access to them online drop me a pm and I can send you the files.
