First stage 3 airliners

Sat Aug 12, 2017 6:07 am

Does anyone know what the first noise stage 3 airliners were?

A Boeing 747-100 with the JT-9D engines was stage 3, and that was 1966??
The Yak-40 was also stage 3, 1968.
The L-1011 and DC-10 were stage 3, 1972.
The A300 was stage 3, 1974.

Interestingly, the 737 did not become stage 3 until the 737-300 in 1984.

Are there other early stage iii aircraft?
