Risk for an airline to integrate Secondary Market Aircraft

Hi everyone, as you can see below, secondary market has some relatively cheap aircrafts :

I was wondering what are the risks in terms of operations for an airline to integrate in his fleet secondary aircraft such as the two B777 above?

Apart the price of the airframe, what airlines are looking closely when they integrate a secondary market aircraft to prevent any operation issues?

It all depends on how good of a deal it is to buy and what it will cost to convert it to the new airline's standards, or are they willing to leave it configured as is and have an oddball in the fleet. The main risk would be hidden things breaking, but that it where a thorough inspection comes into play. That would be where a pre-buy inspection would be valuable or at least a clause in the purchase agreement addressing unforeseen problems. Where I work we recently performed a c check on an aircraft that was then transferred to another airline's operation less than 3 months later. As things go the new operator of the aircraft also contracts with us and the same plane was back at that time to have a new c check under the new operators maintenance program and to be outfitted. The previous operator removed all the company owned equipment such as fire extinguishers, medkits, PBE's, literature etc and the new operator supplied their own. Every air carrier has their own maintenance program and adding a "new " aircraft would require knowing its condition. It not always as simple as buying a used car and taking the mechanics word that it is good.
We have to keep planes airworthy. That doesn't mean they have to fly.

Usually the pre buy inspection is at cost of the purchaser I guess. Do you have roughly an idea how much cost a pre inspection and how long it is?
What is inspected and what is not?
