Can someone tell me what type of passenger aircraft was B3F ?
I stumbled upon this today while looking at today´s airline route update that features a schedule flashback of the New York - San Juan route from sep 1972.
I´m sure - despite the "F" at the end - it must have been a passenger aircraft.
It should be an aircraft type used by AA in the early 1970´s.
I´m not sure whether AA already had B737 at the time (1972 to be precise).

Looks like Boeing 707-320 is the B3F>

The other poster is correct. B3F was the 707-320B. F stood for Fan Jet, not freight. Remember at that time there was a distinction between 707s with Turbo Jets or Fan Jets.
AA never flew the 737 until they merged with Air Cal in 1987.
Another confusing one in AA's schedules was the 400. That was the BAC-111.

That makes sense although it´s interesting that marketing made a distinction between turbojet and fanjet.
Maybe fanjet was "a bit less noisy / less thirsty" so they thought it might give a more modern impression ...

No marketing involved-- the OAG called it the B3F.
