IATA certificate-management jobs

Tue Mar 07, 2017 5:16 am

Hello,

I have never posted before but have been following airliners.net for some time now as civil aviation has always been a hobby of mine from an operational point of view.

I am 32yo and have worked in a number of industries (Finance,IT,NGO) as an accountant (not certified) and similar analytical jobs and working for an airline in their finance and operation department would be a dream.

Do you think taking the IATA finance and revenue management courses (http://www.iata.org/training/courses/Pa ... alf50.aspx, http://www.iata.org/training/courses/Pa ... alf51.aspx) are worthwhile and will help me secure a job in that field? Are they highly regarded or it wouldn't make any difference when I have a BA in Business and an MSc in Finance?

Any input is highly appreciated :)

I worked in my airline's (US network carrier) finance department the last few years. I never heard of anyone who had taken those courses before. Your educational background (provided it's from a good caliber of school) should be plenty.

Thank you very much for insight. Considering that they can get many applicants with similar background, I need something to show that I have some knowledge of the aviation industry. The other option was to do a course on a GDS (Sabre or Amadeus).

Thoughts? :)
