Help Needed To ID TWA Aircraft From 1991

Wed Feb 24, 2016 3:34 pm

Hi everybody

First of all, I apologize for my bad english, I'm french and hope to be clear enough in my explanations.
When I was 18 (almost 43 now), I went to the United States through a student exchange program. I'm now trying for a long time to find tracks of the plane I was onboard during this flight.

The only things I remember are: this TWA flight operated on April 25th 1991, from Paris CDG to Washington DC, Dulles airport. Departure was sheduled around 10h30 AM. The aircraft had three engines, like a Tristar. I don't have the boarding pass anymore so I dont know the flight number.
I don't have pictures of the aircraft except one of a seat close to a window, taking a pic of the outside.

Is there a way to get a picture of this plane ? And to know what happened to this aircraft after TWA company disapeared ? Any public database that stores that kind of information ?

Thank you for your help.
David

Help Needed To ID TWA Aircraft From 1991

The only tri-holers TWA had were B727's and L-1011's (source: wikipedia). My guess is that you flew on the latter.
I'm sure someone can manage to dig up a timetable from that era to find out the flight number, which can confirm the type of aircraft.

You're probably better off asking in the civil aviation forum, where I'm sure you'll receive better responses than mine in no time. I've suggested that the mods move this to that part of the forum. It'll be really tough to find the exact registration, but let's see how far we get.

I know www.lhr-lgw.co.uk includes movements going back a long way.

Do either of these airports do so.

Assuming it was a TWA Tristar, airfleets indicates these were with TWA at the time.

I've been wondering if the TWA computer system and records are still kept/maintained by AA, and if there is anyone that could look up such requests. I have been able to find out through the BTS website and detective work the registrations of 3 of my 6 TWA flights. Unfortunately public records only go back to 1995 or so, and only for domestic flights.

I'm also looking for flight details with AA ORY-ORD during summer 1998 (timetable and registration).

Someone can help me on this ?

Hi everybody,

Still looking for the tail number of this 1991 TWA flight from CDG to IAD.
First of all, can someone confirm the correct flight number I recently got : April 25th 1991, TWA flight from CDG to IAD, is it TW803 ?

Thank you.

I have a TWA time table effective May 1, 1991. For CDG-IAD it shows flight 895. It doesn't list the type, just WIDEBODY (B747/L1011/B767).

With a connection through JFK it shows flights 803 and 703, but flight 703 went to DCA. Flight 803 was CDG-JFK as far back as 1970 and still listed as such in 1995, so unless you made a connection in JFK I wouldn't think it was flight 803, though I don't have the exact time table to tell for sure.
