No AA on ORD-IAD
I am looking into a trip to the US in thr summer (US summer,, it's already summer here in Australia). Forst stop would be Chicago to see old friends and to catxh a Cubs game. Then I was thinking about going to the DC area and seeing my brother. To get an idea, I looked up AA flights between ORD and IAD and there was nothing. I mean nothing appealing, but nothing. How can AA not have direct service between two major US airports? I am a QF and AA ff member, so Onewo3 is my alliance choice.

Well there are a bunch of AA flights from ORD to DCA. It's a lot more convenient if you are going to DC.

My brother is in northern VA, IAD is more convenient. Maybe I'll do DCA and rent a car.

American also flies to Baltimore-Washington from Chicago, maybe that's an option? The only airline that flies between Chicago and Washington Dulles is United.

Depending where in Virginia, AA flies ORD-RIC and ORD-CHO.
I don't know if AA has ever flown ORD-IAD. It makes little sense for them to do so, considering they would have a hub at DCA and would have zero connecting passengers flying between two huge UA hubs.
