Question re Eurowings A320 Configurations

Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:39 pm

When going through the booking process on Eurowings, I looked at two flights both operated by A320 aircraft but one showed a seat map with 30 rows and the other with 31 rows. Does anyone know why there is a difference?

Pls. check the remarks below the flight number. I guess one is the Y174 seater operated by germanwings, whereas the other is a Y180 seater operated by Eurowings Europe. Also check if both seatmaps do offer the premium seating "More Legroom" in front of the cabin.

Both flights say they are operated by Eurowings and both have the “More Legroom” option.

Ok, look here: https://sites.google.com/site/lhgroupfleet/eurowings

All a/c starting with the registration D-AIXX have Y174 seats and were previously operated by LUFTHANSA, keeping the LH interior - a rare subtype in the fleet. The rest is having Y180 seats. You will also notice, that ALL germanwings A320 will start as well with D-AIXX, being ex LH with Y174 seats. That's why I asked for the flight details.

Thanks, that's really helpful.
