I have a question for you.
I booked AA flights (FRA-DFW-DEN, LAS-CLT-FRA) and the CLT-FRA flight is listed as an AY codeshare. As usual I tried to reserve seats but for the AY codeshare I couldn't do it myself and contacted AA about it but they said it was only possible to select seats during check-in for this particular flight.
I've never had any issue with seat reservations on any codeshare flight so I'm a bit unsure if the AA representative I contacted was correct.
Do you have any information on this issue?

I had once the same problem, I received a 6-digit booking code for the itinerary PLUS 2 airlines PNR-codes. With the airline specific PNR-code, I could enter the codeshare partner web-page and pre-book seats.

I found the the PNR code from Finnair but unfortunately the seat reservation function is also blocked there unfortunately.
Guess I'll have to hope for the best at check-in

After contacting Finnair directly they actually gave me a seperate PNR and it finally works.
