How do you think so?
Just curious.

Slug71 wrote:There are a few threads that have touched on this. SAA is not in a position to make any purchases now or in the near short term. They desperately need to get their management and operations in check. Their current fleet is the least of their concerns. Switching to One World from Star Alliance would probably be a good step in a restructuring plan too.
As to the thread topic, the A350 maked the most sense for them and will probably be what they buy when the time comes.

1) Why would a partnership with BA/IB be preferable over LH group? Why would LHR be a better European hub for SA than FRA/MUC?
2) Why would a partnership with AA be preferable over SA's current partnerships with UA & 6B? Why would MIA, PHL or CLT be better than IAD/JFK?
3) How does OneWorld serve them better in South America or Australia? They already have a relationship with LATAM, and Australian authorities won't allow a partnership with Qantas.

Not that i don't believe you but can you please share sources for these two clauses?

I was intrigued with the suggestion made by an avgeek mate of SAA taking 4-6 ex-Lufthansa 747-8s in the medium term...
Would work well on the LHR route I would imagine.
Any chance of reopening Sydney flights with new/extra planes?
Cheers
