Loads and profitability of LOT's BUD-JFK and BUD-ORD flights

Mon Jun 11, 2018 9:10 pm

Hello everybody,

Could someone share some information about the loads and profitability of LOT's BUD-JFK and BUD-ORD flights? Loads, profitablity, etc..

Is it purely politically motivated or is there any business sense of it?

Is there any code share on the ends?

Thanks for all!

Adam

I'm sure the profitability of these flights is a secret that nobody outside the company knows, as goes for any flight of any airline. Top secret, it's not being published anywhere. Load factors can be looked up, but they say nothing about profitability.

C'mon, I did not ask for correct numbers, but for some info from people having more knowledge or access to data. I wouldn't be surprised if this flight's profitability is a well kept secret.

The flights started last month. It will be a long time still before the loads show up in the T100 data released by the DOT. Until then load data will be anecdotal (and thus highly inaccurate - "I flew it once and it was full in economy") or proprietary (and so very very unlikely that anyone who has access would risk sharing it publicly).

That's different. It's ancient data from an airline that doesn't exist anymore. Useless anyway, so why bother keeping it a secret. But profitability of currently operating flights is another thing, that's valuable information. Even if it's just an estimation and not precise numbers, airlines just don't want to share that kind of information. If they do it ends up in the hands of their competitors who'll then use that information against them.
