I'm not sure when exactly when it was I was told I was around 18 months which would make it February 1990, but I was also told the return was a couple of weeks after Lockerbie (early January 1989) which would make me 5 months old. It was DRW-(ASP?)-ADL on AN. My father told me it was a 727 while not a avgeek like me he was able to accurately tell a 727 from everything else so I have no doubt about the equipment.

First flight I can remember was Feb 1994 QF DRW-SIN on a 767 (not sure if it was a -200 or -300) connecting onto MI SIN-HKT 737-300.

First flight alone (UM) and first flight I can recall the registration was Dec 1994 AN DRW-ADL on 727-277(LR) VH-ANA.

United Airlines DC7 in 1955, Philadelphia to San Francisco with stopover in Chicago. We bought box lunches in Chicago. The turbulence over the Rockies was bad.

Ahh, we're close old man! Mine was a Trans-Canada Air Lines (your spelling is perfect) Vickers Viscount in 1960, BOS-YHZ, at least according to the photographic evidence. I was two at the time!

On a side note, at my age, it is funny to see first flights aboard 773s and A320s!

!

I was the same age! Oddly enough, I remember the emergency exit handle of the window seat .... I shudder to think i was playing with it, hopefully not. When looking at a TCA safety card decades later, it popped into my head ... confirmed later when sitting in the TCA Connie parked in front of the hotel at YYZ many years ago.

Funny that my earliest recollection is airline related.

It makes one feel old! But then, I love reading everyone's first flight in this thread, both old and new! (Contrary to what someone says above ... it may be a common topic, but it is still fun).

April 1996, Czech Airlines ATR 72, BTS - PRG. It was the first flight of the BTS - PRG - AMS trip. The second leg was on ATR 42. The return was AMS - PRG - KSC on OK 735 and AT7.
Very late first flight. I was 30 at the time.

In 1958, I was 8 years old at the time. United Airlines Convair CV-340 YVR-BLI(Bellingham)-SEA. Milk run of a trip. My brother and I were travelling with my Mom to Los Angeles. From SEA, we had an Air Coach flight to LAX on a DC-6. Routing was SEA-PDX-OAK-SFO-LAX. We deplaned for a brief stopover in PDX, and on boarding for the segment PDX-OAK, we received a box lunch to take onboard. I love having all the landing and takeoffs, and my mom hated it. When we arrived in LAX that night, she stood in line to rebook a nonstop LAX-SEA for our return. I think in those days that would have been a Red Carpet flight, I remember we got a full meal. We still had to change planes in SEA for the SEA-YVR flight.
It must have been an exciting time for me, as I still remember parts of that trip quite vividly after 60 years! In those days, it was cool that the stewardess passed around a tray before each takeoff with small packets of 2 Chiclets each! I even remember looking out the window during the stopover at SFO, watching them fuel the plane on the top of the wing. And remember a big "NO STEP" sign. The SFO terminal looked enormous to me, looking at it from inside the plane. Boy, those were exciting times for me. According to the schedule, in those days a flight that made multiple stops was designated as an Air Coach flight, and usually on a DC-6 Air Coach Mainliner, and some on a DC-4. I never did get the chance to ride on a DC-4 though.
Cheers,
Carl

My first flight was Manchester to Singapore on SQ’s B747 in 1996 (I was 3 months old but my mum hasn’t photos of me in a bassinet and of the plane so I guess that’s it!)

My first flight as crew was in 2015 for Jet2 on a B733 Leeds Bradford to Murcia

The good old days when you have to look out of the window to get in flight entertainment...it’s funny to see how picky some pax are today, according to my mother, at my first flight on a Douglas DC-3 (I was 3 y.o. ), the seats were some sort of rigid wooden chair fixed to the floor, the cheapest seat on a Ryanair today, is waaaay better than that!

HKG-PEK-HKG, 1994. Don't really remember the full details, but it's either CA or CX on most likely a B747 (I remember it's a widebody, but not sure which type as I was way too young to care about it).

AA, a 727 - think it was in 1965. Flight was from DAL to DAL - it was a promotional sightseeing flight, as AA was talking-up their new plane. My sister and I got to go, and what fun it was!

Not surprisingly, my father's memory is better that my 9-years-old memory: the airline was Britannia Airways (BY: now Thomson Airways / TUI) and looking at planespotters.net it would have been a 737-200.

As a 6-year old in October 1997, I flew with AC from YYZ-MIA on an A320. Went down there for 3 days with my parents, as they couldn't be away from my then-baby brother (he was a year old at the time) on such an occasion for very long. While I don't remember the flight number or the registration, I do remember it being a morning flight from YYZ's old Terminal 2 (which largely handled transborder flights to the US until it was closed in 2004-2005), and I can distinctly recall my seat overlooking the right wing and the aircraft sporting a green winglet (the returning flight sported a red winglet). For a long time, it marked the only instance of being on an airplane that underwent de-icing prior to departure.

As for the flight itself, I can remember two main details; I assisted one of the flight attendants in either handing out or collecting headphones from passengers (my dad took a few photos of me doing this as well), and I visited the cockpit with my mom in-flight. In the cockpit, we chatted briefly with the pilots and I remember looking out the Captain's side window behind him at the ground below. This was the only time I was able to visit; I had flown with EL AL a couple of times in the next two years but they always kept their cockpit doors closed in-flight, even before 9/11. Since then, I've only visited cockpits post-flight.

Early 1976 from BNA to OWB on Air Kentucky on a Beechcraft 99. As I was just over one year old, my mother remembers that I seemed quite happy (yet kept wanting to drink water). Upon landing, she was horrified to discover that I had completely flooded my (cloth) diaper and the aircraft seat! So, if the outbound passenger from OWB on that fateful day is a member of this forum, my sincere (and 42 years belated) apologies to you!

Meanwhile back to the topic at hand, way back in 1957: Pan American a Super "Strato" Clipper a Boeing 377 from SFO to HNL. Grandfather was the pilot. I almost 5 at the time. Flying was a huge deal back then. Don't remember much, except everyone dressed up, walked out to the plane. Exciting for a young kid.

None taken. I was 6. First time flying (obviously since it's in this topic). Moving from NYC to MKE. Only know what I was told by someone with very bad memory. Whichever airline flew that route with a 4 engine turboprop was what I was on. Late afternoon / evening departure.

My parents tell me stories of riding up and down escalators at ORD during a 4 hour delay due to snow just to keep me entertained. I don't remember that though although I would imagine we were flying United. The first flight I remember would have been in 1982 on a UA DC-8 SJC-ORD.

I was going on his calling it a "turboprop", and looking at a Capital timetable from 1962 they had 4 flights a day from New York to Milwaukee. (all with one enroute stop),

If it was just a "prop" and not a "turboprop" then the mix opens up quite a bit.
