Question re Free Azores Inter-Island Connecting Flights

Sun May 13, 2018 9:58 pm

SATA offers a free inter-island connecting flight if you arrive from the Portuguese mainland on any airline but your final destination is another island that is not your first point of entry to the Azores. I’m going to Ponta Delgada for two nights and am thinking of a side trip to another island where I would apply for the free connecting flight for the outbound flight and buy a ticket for the return. Technically this wouldn’t be my final destination so I’m unsure whether or not it’s allowed. Has anyone experience of applying for the free connecting flight? How easy or difficult is it?

Probably better asking SATA themselves.
