Poll: Your First Class Meal Choice (2 choices)

Thu Apr 26, 2018 9:51 am

Today, you are flying from Washington National (DCA) to Nashville (BNA). There will be lunch service inflight. Below are your 2 meal choices:

*** Chicken Salad Wrap ***

*** Turkey Salad Wrap ***

What is your choice?

I don't ever really fly in first (see my user name), but hypothetically if I were this isn't really enough information to make a decision. What other fillings are in each wrap besides the meat? How is each one prepared?

By "salad" do you mean the mayo-based kind of salad? If so, I'll pass.

If possible, none. I'm the kind of person who rather brings his own food on board instead of eating a no doubt very expensive airline meal. Now you can say it's free, but nothing comes free in life. It's included in the ticket price. Instead of that I'd rather see a lower ticket price with the meal excluded so I'm not forced to pay for that far too expensive airline food if I can eat my much cheaper own food.

It's a trick question. The "chicken" salad and "turkey" salad are, in fact, both made from the same processed meat-like substance. The only difference between the two is the label. I'm with flanker, I'll take the hamburger. But make mine a cheeseburger.

Well no airline would offer a choice of turkey wrap or chicken wrap since they would just offer chicken because it is cheaper. :silly: And beyond the cost savings, they are close enough in type (white meat fowl) that it is not even really offering an illusion of choice. :rotfl:

That's why I asked if there's a difference in how the two are prepared. If one is, say, an Asian style chicken salad with lettuce, sprouts, and a soy-ginger dressing, and the other is a Southwest turkey salad with corn, black beans, and Tex-Mex spices, that's something of a choice at least.

True, but I would not expect both to be served as wraps since the preparation would be to provide the flavor the meat lacks so you might as well just offer chicken in both entrees.

I only fly Premium Cabins so I'm quite familiar with the food service offered and have always been offered distinctly different choices in terms of both "delivery presentation" (so entree and sides, sandwich, wrap, etc.) and primary ingredient (be it meat, fowl, fish, pasta or vegetable).

Bring my own box of delicacies, or take out from a really good airport restaurant. (Some airports have them.)

It depends on the dressing, but as it is a "salad", meaning mayo, I would give it a miss unless I was really hungry, in which case the chicken.

This is very hypothetical, but this wouldn’t happen in real life anyway. Also what’s the point of this? Are you just trying to figure out if people prefer chicken or Turkey?

Uhhhhhhh.... generally speaking, turkey is notably cheaper than chicken!
But both suck.

I'm gonna be the first person to actually answer the question. I'd get the chicken; for some reason I've never been a huge fan of turkey.
