WN, Dallas nonstop to/from Corpus Christi possibility?

Wed Apr 18, 2018 9:26 pm

Back in the early 2000s I used to travel on business via Southwest between DAL and Corpus Christi with a stopover or change of planes in HOU. At that time there were four flights a day each way between HOU and CRP and in Flightaware I just noticed that WN is still running the same number of daily flights during the week. Correct me if I am wrong but didn't WN in the later 2000s run DAL - CRP for a short period of time?

Going forward is there any kind of a market between DAL and CRP for WN to try a couple of daily nonstop during the week? Of course the Dallas/Fort Worth area has grown a lot over the years but not sure about Corpus Christi so I am unsure how much the business travel dynamics between the two cities have changed.

CRP has been HOU only for about as long as I've been paying attention going back to about 2000 or so. HRL had flights to DAL for a few years and that's probably what you're thinking of.

In my opinion CRP is one of those stations that should be happy to be in the WN network at all. If I remember correctly CRP-HOU is usually pretty close to the bottom in terms of worst load factors and if not for the fact that it's one of the "legacy" stations from the days of old school Southwest then it probably would have been dropped by now.

American Eagle has 6 nonstops between DFW and CRP on the CRJ 900. I don’t think WN would waste game space at DAL competing..

Yes, my mistake regarding DAL - CEO.
