Question re Transferring from and to UK flights at CDG
I need to fly from ABZ to LHR in May. Air France has a lower fare for a flight via CDG than BA has for a direct flight with the added advantage of a flight on an E170 which would be a new type for me. How easy would it be to transfer at CDG from a flight arriving from the UK to a flight departing to the UK?

It's been a while since I went to CDG, but I think you have to clear security and then walk back to your gate. Why not take the train or fly another carrier to a different London airport and then hop over to LHR? Sounds like a complicated travel day otherwise. 2h flight time to CDG, 2h connection, 90min hop over to LHR sounds like a long way, even for an avgeek

Connections are risky especially in a massive airport like CDG. Not sure how much would be the saving but Please avoid if possible.

Should be no problem, if you arrive and leave from the same Terminal. It's getting only complicated if you have to change Terminals. However, if you miss your connection, AF will rebook you on the next service to LHR!

I agree it should be no problem especially if both are AF flights using the same terminal. You're definitely trading time for money but whatever works for you!
