EK 77W Full Lie Flat Question

Sat Feb 10, 2018 3:33 am

Dear Friends

Could anyone please advise how to know for sure if an EK 77W operated flight will feature the "new" 180 degree flat seats, unveiled almost 2 years ago instead of the angled lie flat?

They have so many different configurations, but I know ULH fights use the 8/42/304 config.

Specifically looking at the EK221/222 DXB DFW DXB rotation

Have all 77W operating ULH flights been refitted and feature that "latest" J product.

Have searched and searched and have not come up with much. HELP!

Unfortunately you cannot be sure - other than chances are very very small. Only the new factory fresh aircraft have the new full flat business seats and I believe Brussels is the only destination currently “guaranteed” the new F, J and Y. From memory no reconfig will be done to older 777s (77L or 77W) so chances are small to actually try the 77W product.

Since the new product 77Ws have the exact same number of J and Y seats, the only way to tell is if F is at only 6 seats. Changes to galley have found the few inches needed for the new J seats.

Cheers

No, I don't think any plane will be refitted with the new product.

I think planes with registration A6-EP* and A6-EQ* all have the new business classs, and some of them they also have the new First class suites, currently I think GVA and BRU are the first two destinations with that service.
I am not sure if DFW always have this new planes, but I just check with Flight radar and it seems like most of the time is one of this new planes.

Actually the B77L will get a new 2 class configuration, but I don't know if that will be with the new seats or with the old ones already installed in the B77L fleet, It could be a good opportunity to introduce the new business, specially in planes that will be doing some very long flights like FLL, GRU-SCL.

Re: EK 77W Full Lie Flat Question

Thanks everyone.
To clarify, when I meant the full lie flat J seats, I meant the ones that are still in 2-3-2 configuration, but are NOT angled lie-flat.
Specifically, I was looking to find out about this seat: https://www.emirates.com/media-centre/e ... eat-at-atm , which was launched in 2016, and hoping it is used on all ULH 77W missions.

Could anyone clarify that? Thanks!!

The angle flats are only on very few two class aircraft (42J/400Y). ALL aircraft with first class have lie flat business. Virtually all their aircraft have lie flat seats that look almost identical to the "new" lie flats that are on a couple of aircraft flying to BRU and GVA currently only. DFW will definitely be a three class and hence lie flats but not the "new" almost identical lie flats.

Great!
So it will be 180 degree lie flat that was launched in 2016? Small mini bar in each seat etc...?

NO. That business class is only on a few aircraft with the new 1-1-1 first class. Currently only on GVA and BRU. You will still have 180 degree lie flat but not the new with mini bar.
