Of the 13 A380 Operators.......

Thu Jan 25, 2018 6:35 pm

.......9 of them are currently on route to SYD,

QF
EY
EK
SQ
ME
OZ
CZ
MH
QR

Is that the most A380 operators to visit one airport on a daily basis?. I'm sure LHR or LAX may have come close at one time.

(First time poster, long time lurker. Apologies for another A380 thread :white: )

Thanks for doing the count. I was watching the MH flight arrive last weekend and trying to do the list in my head. Of the 9, QFxlots, EKx3 and SQx2 are the multiple dailies iirc (not couning the NZ tags for EK.

Err I seriously doubt ME [Middle East Airlines} had a A380 inbound to SYD! Which airline was it?

EY is also double daily.

As a note though, I'm guessing MH has sent the A380 in past few days because they have an A330 out of action due to an engine problem (It could also be due to increased demand from the end of the school holidays). That flight should return to an A330 soon although the A380 will be back for a few days in March/April. KE, OZ and CZ are also seasonal for the southern summer so SYD will go down to 5 operators (QF, SQ, EK, EY, QR) in the Southern winter/Northern Summer

Probably should be "KE"

Yeah, wondered about ME :)

As I type at 1035 local, OZ and EK are taxiing, one QF is at the terminal (others may be at jet base) and both EY and SQ have a bird on remote stands.

ETA: EK was actually being towed. And yes, the second EY is a later evening departure that ie hear but never see.

Good place to go and see where A380s are currently flying to/from is:
www.iflya380.com
Shows where each of the 13 operators send their frames and which operators serve each of the 60 cities with a380 service. It does, unfortunately, combine data for airports serving the same city (e.g. LON, NYC).

I didn't want to dedicate a new thread to this but something else (unrelated to A380s) interesting I found flightradar24 this morning was all three UA 787s inbound for SYD had sequential registrations.

N27957 - UA863 from SFO
N27958 - UA839 from LAX
N27959 - UA101 from IAH

I believe up until last year, 9 different operators (same number as above) were serving LAX on a daily basis - AF, BA, CZ, EK, KE, LH, OZ, QF and SQ.
SQ now operates the 77W to LAX.

So out of 13 operators, 9 are serving SYD. Who are the other 4 operators not flying the A380 to SYD? I can think of AF, BA and LH. Who is the fourth?

Thai Airways.

I also don't think that the MH service to SYD is a regular thing, so SYD probably only sees 8 A380 operators on a regular basis.

I counted 8 to LHR today on Flightradar,

BA, EK, QR, EY, QF, SQ, MH and TG.

I know KE have visited LHR in the past too, so maybe they've also had 9.

During the summer season, JFK can see these A380 operations:

EK x 3
EY x 2 (minus Day 1 on EY101/100)
LH x 1
SQ x 1
OZ x 1
KE x 2
AF x 2

PEK sees very few A380s: EK, CZ and LH, not sure about BA.

But today I saw an SQ A380 in PEK while taxiing to the terminal. Might be due to the upcoming holiday season... never saw an SQ A380 in PEK before..,

Not really holiday related. SQ802/807 had been on a A380 for awhile.

BA flight to PEK is on a B789.

Thanks for the information, didn't know about this upgrade (used to be B777 or A330).

Doesn't HKG also get more than its fair share of A380s? I think Emirates, Singapore, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa and Asiana all have regular services. Possibly Qantas and Thai as well?
