Airlines still flying the A300 and A310 in pax version.

Thu Jan 18, 2018 10:46 pm

Hi everyone,

I ran across this picture:

And it surprised me that there were still a few A300s and A310s airworthy in passenger version. So I thought it would be interesting to post a thread about who is still flying those relics. What operator? The first A300 entered service 43 years ago!

Iran Air is one, as the picture above shows.
Another one that I can think of is Air Transat, but I'm not sure they still fly the A310. I know they were still doing so earlier this decade.

Airbus has that information readily available, updated on monthly basis - just go to http://www.airbus.com/aircraft/market/o ... .html#file, download the file and choose the criteria by which you would like to view the data.

That spreadsheet is brilliant! Thanks for sharing...

My understanding is that they will be replaced by A321NEO-LR's so we still have a year or two.
Azores Airlines (SATA) is also replacing their A310;s with A321neo's. They're supposed to start flying their first A321NEO this month. Looks like it might have been pushed back. But the second and 3rd NEO can't be too far behind.

Korean airlines was flying the A300 and I was blessed to be able to fly on it in 2011. According to ACAS by Flight Global most of the passenger aircraft are grounded. FedEx and UPS fly the majority of the aircraft as freighters. It appears Iran air, Meraj Air, Qeshm Airlines of Iran and Mahan Air of Kuwait are the only passenger airlines left flying these old dogs. You can still get a ride in a A310 if you fly with Air Transat of Canada. There are a few other airlines flying them in far away countries.

Do they still fly between Lisbon and the Azores? Or only between the Azores and North America? When are they scheduled for retirement?

Had some fun flights on these types in the past, so it's good to see them holding out.

Taban Air and Mahan Air also have A310s active, in addition to IR's 1/2 in service still. Ariana Afghan may also have a couple in service, but I'm not sure how accurate this is.

Qushm Air, Mahan and Meraj Airlines in Iran also still fly the A300 in pax service.
