Meal Service on Inter-Island Hawaiian Flights
Seeing as inter-island Hawaii flights are quite short, I’ve always wondered if any airlines have ever served anything aside from the standard beverage accompaniment? I’m guessing a full meal service, no, but a snack would have been doable!

No meal or snack service. A 4 fl. oz. sealed water or sugar water (fka juice) and optional (non-edible) map of the destination Neighbor Island. Coffee on morning flights.

The longest inter island flight is LIH-KOA, which is about 40 minutes of air time. By the time you include climbing to altitude and “please prepare the cabin for arrival,” that’s about 15 minutes for some kind of service. (Also, that’s a once a day flight).

It is doable. LX on their GVA-ZRH flights are serving a bottle of water and a chocolate for coach pax while business get a full drink service and a light meal. Flight time 25 to 30 minutes. Aircraft A319, 320 or 321 and CS100 or 300.

What was the inflight service on these routes in the 70's/80's?
