SQ31 SFO-SIN Inquiry

Sat Nov 18, 2017 9:08 am

Not sure if this was asked before, but what is the chance of getting bumped on this flight? And how many seats are booked? Does SQ overbook flights from SFO-SIN by any chance? Trying to draw up plans on what to do when travelling in South East Asia because I'm scared I'm gonna miss a connecting flight booked on a separate ticket.

I have not taken this flight but I fly SQ a lot.
Ah the elusive SQ upgrade. Some say it's a legend or a myth of sorts..
You're more likely to win the lottery :p

You should be fine and I wouldn't worry about being bumped if you are a revenue passenger. If you are non-rev, then that's how it goes.

That's not even remotely what the OP is talking about.

Gotta be real careful booking multiple tickets. How much of a buffer do you have? And do you have a backup plan? I'd be more worried about the flight being a few hours late than getting bumped. Involuntary denied boardings are quite rare.

Luckily I'm a revenue passenger (economy though).

Thinking of staying for 3 nights in Singapore to accommodate this. Was thinking of going into KUL right after the 16 hour flight but looks like it's not gonna go ahead.
