But how I will handle an 8 hour work day after little sleep on a 16 1/2 hour flight remains to be seen. This trip actually started in December, but only the 2018 flights are shown. Nothing planned yet, but am looking at a trip over the 4 day Easter holiday, will have to be a domestic and not a trip to NZ (which I wanted to do) as I need to renew my passport and may not get it back by Easter.

It was nice, a little cooler than what I would've liked, but was still nice. Of all of my US flying, I do think that RSW is a pain. It is a small airport, but the TSA line moves like molasses in January and then boarding and deplaning takes forever due to all of the old people (which I am getting close to) and all of the families that are heading down or leaving their vacations.

Somehow TATL airfares went on sale this month. A bunch of us are going to Amsterdam in June (with individual responsibility for arranging flights), and I got that last week for $490 USD, and on Valentine's Day other people found other options via AC or UA for under $450 USD RT. For the last couple of months nobody had seen anything under $780, and DL wanted $1200 for their non-stops.

These will be my first flights since a single UA B738 MSP-ORD flight in November 2016 (even then, that was my only flight in all of 2016) so I'm pretty excited.

Unfortunately the ATL-MIA-ATL leg is not operated by MD80/90, which would have been a new aircraft type for me. Short before I fly the route it switches to a boring 320

UA620 was renumbered to UA1586 but otherwise is about the same. It's also 15 minutes earlier but my layover is still 2.5 hours so hopefully that's enough to go through customs, transfer from T5 to T1, and clear security. Never connected int'l to domestic at ORD before.

Be advised though that according to seatguru, Copa has 3 configurations for the E90: one with the real business class seats and the other two "european style".

Sure, I guess I'll join in. I don't get to fly more than maybe twice a year, but I did manage to accumulate enough MileagePlus miles for an award flight to Hawaii, so I decided to book a trip to LIH this August. Maybe it's because I was booking so far in advance, but I was pleasantly surprised to find Saver awards in both directions around the dates I wanted. It did require a double connection, but that's not such a bad thing because it means I'll get to fly on a 717 for the first time.

Since I was booking so far in advance I managed to snag a seat assignment towards the back of the 777 where the seats switch from 3-4-3 to 2-4-2. I hear that if you have to fly on a 10 across 777 those are the best seats. And the 737 on SFO-SMF will be interesting. That's got to be the shortest mainline flight I've ever taken by a long shot. That's a major upgrade from the E120s that used to fly that route.
