Question for those that have taken the longer Q400 / ATR flights over open water, what is the turbulence like if there is any? I did a B1900 from Auckland to Blenheim in New Zealand, it was just about two hours, and the cruise was smooth, but the descent and landing were horrifyingly bumpy.

We didn't experience any turbulences on this flight. During the flight they served us a snack+beverages and a full lunch service (it tasted quite bad). The seat was ok and the seat pitch was good too. I have some videos of this flight and I hope to make a flight report soon

Are they any current operators who have some form of IFE equipped on the Q? I know some ATR's have video screens installed.

As compared to the Q100, where a flight of any length seems like the "longest".

Based on the video it did not look like a bad ride at all.

As others have mentioned, Eurowingsh ave started to use their "inherited" Q400s on some fairly long routes from Dusseldorf, e.g. Dusseldorf - Mostar.
On a larger scale, I assume that airbaltic indeed is the most relevant airline in that context. They have quite a few fairly long Q400 routes like RIX-DUS, BRU. There are also pictures in the database of Q400 at CDG and FCO, although these appear to not be scheduled on those routes. Both 1000+ miles.
To be honest, comared to the Q400, I find the "longest ATR routes" even more interesting, given the much slower speed of the ATR. I remember a ride on an ATR42-300 from DUS to VNO a decade or so ago, 800+ miles. The late Cimber Air operated seasonal flights from Denmark to the south of France for many years on their ATRs which were 900+ miles.
