Jet Blue, worth the risk?

Thu Nov 09, 2017 4:11 pm

I generally fly United, but I have been looking at other airlines as well to Florida. (Sometimes JB is lower than United on some flights)

However, a few people I know that have flown with JB in the past few years stated their quality has gone down.. cancelled flights, delayed flights (hours long) etc.

Is it that bad?

Lol no. No more risk than flying another domestic product. In fact, some might argue it's the best. Be brave. Try something new.

Other than a delay flying into Europe w/ United, I have had 0 problems with United.

Its not about being brave, but smart. ;)

I’ve had a number of delays on JetBlue. But I’ve had a number of delays on every other airline too. However, other airlines don’t offer 32in seat pitch in Economy, along with free snacks and free baggage (on certain fares). If I have a choice, I’ll take JetBlue.

The wife and I fly B6 a lot, delays happen, same as other airlines, the only real issue I have had with them is lack of staffing at the counters at FLL, to the point of them trying to refuse to check us in for our flight after standing in line for over an hour thanks to them only having 2 people on the desks, on a Sunday evening (10 cruise ships in port that day if I remember correctly).

The positives way out weight the negatives, along with WN, they are the only airline I trust if the crap hits the fan, and I am diamond on DL....That's more of a positive for B6/Wn than a negative for DL btw.

Flew Jetblue in July and had a really positive experience. I would highly recommend them

There's really no added risk. There's no substantial difference in on-time performance between UA and B6, and I find B6's product (soft and hard) to beat UA's at every turn.
A junkie for A340s, A380s, and of course Her Majesty the Boeing 747. I wish they were financially viable, but it is not to be.

I'm sorry.. JetBlue sounds like the scariest thing in the sky. Wouldn't dare to fly them, they are the only one with delays....

The OP has made four total posts and three of them are about some type of "fear" of JetBlue. Let's face reality -- this is an anti-JetBlue troll.

It really is annoying that some posters have a clearly intense bias against a certain carrier isn’t it? (Hint hint)

A "few people". And, in the "past few years." So what? Welcome to this forum - provide us with statistics to back up your claims.

I've flown them through the century. (This one) And I must report satisfactory service, amazing seats (mainly on their older A320s) and decent crew.
Well uh, I obviously decided to refine this but i dont know how.

I have flown B6 for ages and have no complaints. Prefer them over UA anytime of the day if thats what you want me to say UA fanboy :)

Well, for the record, I've been cancelled on all the carriers, but the one that has severely screwed me over the most for inconvenience, several times, is Southwest. Yet, I still fly them.

I fly B6 quite a bit. I really like the airline, and I really love the product. Unfortunately I have to say that I'm really not thrilled with their punctuality lately. It's a recent turn of events with them though, as they were usually very punctual.

Maybe I'll give them a shot, as I have two different flights to book.

Serious, compared to other airlines and especially the ultra low co$t carriers, JetBlue is a way better airline.
