Does DL offer an airside shuttle between T3 and TBIT?

Wed Oct 11, 2017 7:03 am

Flew DL at LAX yesterday for the first time after the terminal switch. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that an airside shuttle is offered between T2 and T3, but is there one to TBIT as well? Several Skyteam partners use TBIT, does DL offer airside connections to it until a connector is built?

So, how does this work, and do you need a TBIT boarding pass?

I've never tried T3 to TBIT specifically, but from what I've read about it since the big shuffle, they do check boarding passes (so many people can still get so easily confused) but they will let you through if you just say you want to use one of the lounges.

There are a lot of threads about this if you look, especially over at FlyerTalk. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my reading of all of it is that they might give you some guff for trying to go to TBIT without a TBIT boarding pass but they will otherwise let you through. TBIT to T2/T3 is a little more of a challenge.

I suppose you could also say that you want to use the shuttle because you have a connecting flight in T4/5/6/7/8 and want to walk, but even if that were true, it would probably be faster to exit landside and reclear security.
