Condor's next US destination

Fri Sep 08, 2017 9:57 pm

It's been a long time since I've done a next US destination thread for a foreign airline, so I figured I'd start a new one. What airport do you guys think will be Condor's next US destination?

If I were to be a troll or DL hater, I'd say DTW ;) . But I'm not, so I'll suggest BNA, RDU and SLC.

What are your suggestions?

Why is suggesting DTW any more of a troll or DL hater (not that it is) than suggesting SLC like you did? Both are DL hubs with non-stop service to EU.

I was making a joke, and not actually suggesting DTW. They would certainly not be at the top of their list for expansion. The reason I suggested SLC was because there are places outside of SLC like Park City and national parks that would appeal to European tourists.

At one time Condor flew into Fort Lauderdale so maybe one day they will be back.

Flying to SLC would be pointless for Condor. Delta (and KLM to a lesser degree) already has Europe more than covered for that market with AMS, CDG, and LHR.

I think that BNA, a return to PVD, FLL, and RSW to fill the gap if/when AB liquidates would be the next logical steps. Some other possibilities, although less likely, could be ORD, DTW, or CVG.

SMF or RNO would be intriguing. RNO has a lot or tourism potential. I guess FAT is also close to three great National Parks too.

I'm thinking ATL-MUC might be on their radar.

Oklahoma City perhaps? In 2018 the new expansion including international gates and FIS is supposed to open, Condor could be the first international airline to serve this airport.
