When did you fly on your first 737 and A320?

Given the current thread about which plane the most people take their first flight on, now I'm wondering kind of a related question -- how many times most people had to fly before their first flight on these two very common planes. I'm going by the number of round trips, not flights, so the results don't get skewed by the number of segments people flew on various trips.

So for example I flew on my first A320 on the return portion of my first trip by air (the full trip was RDU-ORD-SEA and SEA-ORD-RDU, on a BAe-146, 757, A320, and another BAe-146).

My first 737 flight wasn't until my fourth trip by plane, Southwest RDU-BWI and back. If I remember correctly it was a -300 there and a -700 on the return, but I didn't really keep records back then.

And if anyone's curious, trips #2 and #3 were on MD-88s and CRJs, and more A320s, respectively.

UA 737-200 DCA-RDU 1968......flew back on a UA DC-6B which was more fun and included a full meal on a 50 minute segment!

First A320 was February of 1992 on HP. PHX-ORD.

First 737 was in the summer of 1998 (I think) on CO, either a -300 or -500. PHX-CLE.

People seem to be only reading the title (which I admit might have been a little confusing) and responding without actually reading my post. I didn't ask what year you flew on them. As this was meant as an offshoot of the discussion about what type of plane most people's first flight was on, I was interested in how many trips it takes before most people fly on their first 737 and A320. For example my first 737 flight was my 4th trip by plane.

A little bit confusing? I first flew in 1952 so up to my first 737 I flew several flights being a military brat who traveled extensively with my parents into adulthood. I then served 4 years in the military flying as a crewmember on search and rescue aircraft and flying commercially as a civilian. I then became an airline crew member prior to 1968 when I flew for the FIRST TIME ON A 737 and subsequently the A320 when it joined my airline.
In the review of your title, your original post and now your clarification, I obviously cannot factually reply to your inquiry.

After flying from LGW-MCO several times dating back from 1987, it wasn't until 2010 when I started travelling even further into North America, that I would need to take internal flights and cross border (into Canada). My first A320 and coincidentally my first NB aircraft was operated by UA taking me from ORD to YVR. It wasn't until several trips and years later in 2015 that I got to fly on my first 737. Operated by UA, it took me from IAH to SAN, a 738 I believe.

First 737 was G-AVRO in 1970, MAN-GRO. Back in the days when 737s were still pretty rare!

My first 737 was Transavia Amsterdam - Las Palmas, it was the second time I flew. Well, actually the third time if you count my first trip as two seperate flights (return flight).

My first A320 took a whole lot longer, there have been quite a few other flights inbetween that were mostly on a 737 (but inbetween I've also logged my first 757-300 and my first Fokker F-100). It was with Condor Cologne-Bonn - Las Palmas. Yes, surprisingly both my first 737 and my first A320 took me to the same destination.

My first 737 flight was in October 1997 with United from OMA to ORD- after that, I don't think I managed to fly on one again until 2005. My first A320 flight took considerably longer, since the airlines my family usually flew didn't start operating them until relatively recently (or at least, not on the routes we flew), so it took until May 2009 to fly one with Northwest from OMA to MSP.

Unless your first flight is a longhaul flight, which is typically not the case. The usual first flight is within Europe, e.g. from Germany to the island of Mallorca etc.

E.g., my two daughters: each of their first flight was a B737 (TUIfly and Air Berlin respectively).

I just became 48 and when I started flying there was no A320 and there was a much larger number of different aircraft types.

My second flight was on a B737, PanAm from FRA to TXL in 1981 (the first flight was on a THY DC-10).
I had to fly one more decade, let's say about 15-times, until I had my first flight on an A320 (LH, cannot remember when exactly).

My first 737 was my second ever round trip, from MAN to ATH, with Air Europe in 1981

Some of my records got a bit jumbled but I am pretty sure my first A320 was with AF from LHR-CDG and that would have been around my 50th flight [give or take a few].

My 4 first flights were on A320 and therefore it is also a honourable plane for me. The very first flight was actually on A321 but I consider it almost as the same. But my first flight on the 737 was only after many flights on A320, 757, ATR-72 and B717.

My first A320 series flight was in about 2002 or 2003 on Northwest Airlines. I flew on an A320 from MSP to PHX on then on an A319 on the return. I remember being very impressed at the time with the A320's cabin.

Since then, I've flown on the following A320 family models with the following airlines:
A319: DL, NW
A320: AA, DL, NW, US
A321: AA, DL, US

My first experience flying a 737 was in 2004 - a 300 series, from MKE to PHX on America West Airlines. I would go on to fly the 733 a few more times on this route between 2004 and 2006.

Since then, I've flown on the following 737 series with the following airlines:
737-300: HP, US
737-800: AA, DL
737-900: KL
737-900ER: DL

I always wanted to fly on a 737-200, but sadly, I think I missed my chance.

My first 737 flight was in late 70's (or early 80's) on a MH's -200 from SIN to KUL.. My first A320 was in 2011 with Indonesia AirAsia from CGK to SIN.

Unless AA had some 737s going between SFO and the PNW I'd say my first 737 flight was SFO-SJD-SFO on AS in 2000, which would've been my second or third (or fourth?) roundtrip by air (vaguely remember one trip to Europe before I even had much memory of anything let alone if there were 737s). First A320 wasn't until OAK-JFK-OAK on B6 in 2004, which between the first 737 and first A320 included trips to SAN, LHR, and MCO that had more 737s.

I flew on two aircraft before my first a320; a saab340b and a 757 on Aeromexico. The return flight was (sadly) on a Mexicana a320, although I can't remember the variant; I doubt it was an a318 since it was being flown to MTY (a larger city), though I do feel like it was a bit short, so maybe an a319... (haven't flown on anything shorter than an a320 since).

Afterwards were four MD80s by American, and then finally flew a UA 737-700 to EWR, from Austin.

It took me exactly two flights until I first set step on a 737.
That first 737-flight was from Berlin to Düsseldorf on a BA 737-200 (G-BGDR) in july 1986.
Afterwards it took me quite a while until I had my first flight in an A320 series aircraft with another 46 flights in between before I had my first flight on an A320.
That finally happened in june 1989 when I flew Strasbourg (SXB) - Paris (ORY) with Air Inter (IT) on F-GHQB ...

My first Boeing 737 flights were on a Britannia Airways Boeing 737-200 from London Gatwick to Malta and return in September 1980.

My first Airbus A320 flight was on a Airbus A320-100 series with British Airways from London Heathrow to Berlin Tegal Airport in July 1999, return flight was on a British Airways Boeing 757.

My first 737 flight was my #2, a MIA-MCO service with USAir in Dec. 1990.
As for the A320, that was my #81 flight. It was a TAM service from Sao Paulo (GRU) to Porto Seguro (BPS) in Oct. 11, 2003. Reg. was PT-MZI.

First 737 I remember was June 1987 SJC-PHX on an America West 737-200. I was a kid at the time and remember most of my trips prior as a mix of 727s, DC-8s and DC-10s.

My first A320 was also on America West (interesting) PHX-ORD. This was in 1993 and it really didn't take long to come across an A320 as this was only my second or third occasion of flying since the advent of the A320.

Not sure on the 737. The first one I remember was on an Airtran 737-200 ATL-BUF, but I probably had a flight or two before then.

I remember my first A320 flight for certain, it was on US Airways MHT-PHL in July 2001.
