Bringing Food/Drink Onto Spirit ...

Sun Aug 13, 2017 4:10 am

I will ask and post this quickly before this topic gets snatched and moved over to Siberia (Polls & Preferences) .. in like, 45 seconds.

I recall a while back reading that NK banned pax from bringing their own stuff onboard the plane for consumption inflight (thus making u purchase their own stuff).

Is this correct or am I trippin?

Flying tmrw and I'm curious if I can bring some munchies on board.

Even if there was a rule they had (can't find any online), there's no real way they can enforce it... If you can bring it through security or buy it in the terminal you can eat it in on the plane.

They can shame you for bringing it onboard, like how AirAsia was alleged to have done.

I've never flown Spirit, but I don't see how any airline could enforce this, especially for passengers with special dietary requirements and allergies (gluten free, vegan etc.). That being said I always find it funny when I see passengers carrying pizza boxes onto my flights..the cabin smells damn good after!

Yes you can bring your own, like any other airline.

They may not like it, but there's nothing they can do about it.

Which is why I said they can shame you for bringing the food onboard.

In fact - scratch the alleged.

Where's the shaming?

Failure to adhere to the airline's rules and then disregarding the crew by continuing to eat it after being asked to cease.

The only shame in that post is the appalling keyboard work and attitude of my fellow countrywoman.

The only airline in the USA I'm aware of that banned bringing your own food on board was the former Skybus.

Spirit has no rule regarding bringing your own food on board.

Of course you can bring your own food or drink, just has to be non-alcoholic. And as far as food goes, please don't bring anything overly stinky!
