Health and safety on board

Tue Jul 18, 2017 4:58 pm

My wife and I recently flew back from Las Vegas on British airways
In our seat footwell were loose wires. We asked to be moved and were told no as this was our allocated seats even though there were plenty of seats available
We have launched a complaint only to be told that they are sorry but there's no issue even though I feel it was a health and safety issue as either of us could of slipped tripped or fell
We stood for most of the flight

Maybe if you sat down, you would've been less prone to trip and fall.

What would you like from this forum? Seems like Daily Mail might be more apt for what you are going for.

Did the seat have in seat power or in IFE? If not they weren't power wires.

That would be your opinion. Are you an aircraft maintenance tech?
How could you possibly slip, trip, or fall catching your feet on wires under the seat in front of you?
If you manage to stand with your feet under a seat I'd love to see that.

So you no doubt made the F/A very nervous acting in such a manner.

Your photos need to be on an online image host so you have a url. There are plenty of free hosting services out there. Then use [img] insert the url here [ /img] (remove the space before the forward slant).

And I do have connections to aircraft engineers as I deliver Aog parts all over the uk and they actual agree with me. Not to worry. You can close this topic now

I'm sure we're all interested to see the photos, though, if you have them. Then we can judge if this was a real issue or not. It was probably the IFE wiring; the cover probably just came off. It's annoying, but it happens.

I do have them but don't understand how the upload work. 2 runs off cable running along the trunk along the length of the aircraft. Yes these should be covered with a rubber cover which was obviously missing and the wiring was running well above floor level but only between our seat and the seat in front of us. My wife is a nervous flyer as it is. She was worried she would wake up during the flight to use the toilet and forget about the wiring and trip.

Well, first off, you stated something with no apparent question.
Secondly, you told us all that you knew some engineers and deliver AOG parts.
Thirdly, your grammar and spelling sucks, so we still couldn't really figure out what you wanted from the board, except maybe some sympathy.

I'm sorry your wife is a nervous flyer, but I can hardly see the logic in standing all flight and making other people nervous, instead of just sitting still and mind the cables. If she has to go, can't you help her to mind the cables before getting up?
