Wow air not paying delay compensation

Fri Jul 07, 2017 4:32 pm

i was delayed in January flying wow air YUL to LGW via KEF.

I applied for flight delay compensation via their website and 14 weeks later i recieved a reply saying my delay was caused by weather and the case is now closed.

I knew the delay was not caused by weather so i responded with quite a bit of additional info such as departure and arrival info for YUL, KEF AND LGW for that day showing no other flights had weather related delays and the flight history of the plane for the 2 weeks prior to my flight showing continual delays and not enough turn around time to catch up to schdule.
WOW have now got back to me with an offer for vouchers or to say what i think responable compensation would be - which i will do.

My point is... with WOWs poor on time performance, how many people are they fobbing off saying the delay was caused by reasons beyond their control when it wasnt and is it legal for them to do that?

BA rejected my claim twice before they eventually paid it. Someone else on the flight got his paid immediately so it varies according to the wording and or claims handler you use/get.

airlines will ALWAYS fight these claims. They figure you will tire and just drop it.

I would send the complain to ICETRA as well, all information here:

No they won't - I've had two claims with BA both of which were filed online, accepted and paid in full within seven days. Don't resort to inaccurate generalisations, use facts.

Indeed they won't. Transavia handled our recent request for compensation also very well. Accepted and paid within days.
