WOW Air A330 seat pitch

Thu Apr 27, 2017 8:26 am

This past Monday I flew SFO-KEF on WOW air. Flight was operated by TF-LUV (A330) and I was seated in the second Y cabin over the wings. As it is a ULCC I was expecting the worst, however I was quite surprised of the generous seat pitch they offer. Much better than any other TATL carrier I have flown in Y, and I have flown on all major TATL carriers. Any idea why WOW offers such large pitch when they instead could cram in more seats? Must have been at least 34-35in. Flying back home to LAX this evening, and I actually look forward to my flight with them, especially when I only paid $260 round trip SFO-KEF-LAX!

Honestly, I really don't know - but I think it is very simple to explain.

The a/c is equipped with 2 smaller Type 1 exit doors - and not all Type A, as the a/c were acquired 2nd hand.

BTW: the standard seat pitch is only 29"-31", but you were sitting in an XL-seat with 32"-33": https://wowair.us/travel-info/fares/wow-seats/
