Re: Ever fly on the same plane twice?

I flew F-GTAU (an AF A321) from BCN to CDG and then traveled on to TXL on some other frame. Two days later, I was anticipating an A318 flight (I've never been on an A318) back from TXL to CDG where I was then flying on F-HPJD (an A380, my only one to date) back to SFO. However, when I got to the stand, surprise! F-GTAU was waiting for me again, instead of the planned A318.

I honestly don't care if I never fly on an A318. It can't be that different from any other A320 family member on the inside, just shorter.

Oh goodness - more times than I could possibly count. I saw BA’s first 787-9 G-ZBKA at Paine Field a few days before delivery in September 2015. I then flew on her (in Seat 1A!) to Delhi in June 2017. I flew her again - in the same seat - returning from Cairo to LHR in July 2017.

Just a fortnight ago I went to Chicago on 747 oneworld logo aircraft G-CIVI. I returned to London 4 days later on the same aircraft.

I have flown on the same 767 under two carriers - the first time as a BA aircraft then later with Qantas.

Earlier this month I flew on A320 HS-BBJ twice. First was December 2 FD 645 HAN-DMK and then December 8 FD 3170 HKT-UTH. Same seat both flights.

Quite often when travelling heavily AKL/SYD/AKL on day trips, I would get the same 763 on the 7am departure from AKL and the 6.30pm departure from SYD. The length of flight sector and the time change works perfectly to get 2 return flights in per day

I flew on the same LY 763ER (4X-EAJ) back in May and July of this year, from YYZ-TLV and back 5 1/2 weeks later. During that time I had spent a month in Europe on a tour of the Balkans.

I just did MRY-LAS on 26th and LAS-MRY on the 30th on N301NV. My only times on the same plane have now been the outbound and return of the same trip.

Yes, it also happens with QF, mostly on the 717 in recent years, but on different days. Last month I flew on the same plane twice in one day - a Q400. I didn’t get back on the same flight for the next sector. It did two more sectors then I got back on it for my second flight. Not the same seat though.

I flew this weekend again in the same plane (Wizzair), on Saturday and then on Monday (New Year's).

In Europe there is a big chance to fly in the same plane if you fly with a low-cost carrier (FR, U2, W6...) in or out of a small base (there are bases with 1 or 2 planes) and only with a few days in-between (otherwise they usually rotate planes between bases due to maintenance, etc). In this case there is a big chance that you are flying an aircraft based in that airport (let's say 50% chance since some routes are operated by aircrafts based in other airports) and if, for instance, there are only 2 aircrafts there, there is a 50% chance out of this 50%; so let's say 25%.

D-AIPA, one of LH's very old A320, follows me quite often. To FRA, to MUC, to BRE, to OSL and to LIN. I don't know why but she's there all the time :)

I once was booked on a KL Fokker 70 from BRE to AMS with my wife. I had a two hours transit and then boarded the very same aircraft on my way to Bordeaux. With the same crew. Most funnily I thought they would recall faces - but they didn't. It must have been because of me;)

I did several times, nowadays I am only looking at the registrations of very certain aircraft types.

I very well remember a very certain US 757. I flew for the first time SJU-PHL on it. This bird had some issues and we departed later, because mx guy at SJU was able to fix it. I do have the reg somewhere, in case someone is interested.

One year later at the gate in SJU on my way to PHL I saw that bird again and thought oh no. A bit later there was an announcement that the plane had an issue. Deicing was not working, but that was required to get to PHL. They said if everyone would agreee to fly to CLT instead and to arrange onward journeys from there. So we went to CLT. US did a very good job. We arrived at the gate, jumped out of the plane and then they had everything ready so we could pick up our boarding passes and quite soon I was on my way tp PHX.

American Eagle (Envoy) CRJ-900ER (CL-600-2D24) N951LR | SBA-PHX 2014-11-07 & DFW-HSV 2017-03-14.
Also, I flew Western Airlines and North Central quite a bit a a kid when my Dad worked for WAL, so there may have been some duplicates there.

I flew TAP today (connecting in LIS) and the same aircraft on both flights.

But what is funnier, a few months ago in another connection (with a completely different city-pair) with TAP in LIS... guess what? Also the same aircraft in both flights (however a different one than today).

So when are booking with TP with a short-layover (45-60 minutes) and same type of plane, it seems like there is a relatively big chance that you will end up flying the same aircraft.

So far in 2018 I have flown (among other flights) two aircrafts twice (well my Wizzair flight in late December and in early 2018 to be more accurate, but only 3 days in-between).

Back in 2007, I flew to Fort Lauderdale and back on JetBlue. Both times the flight stopped in Austin, Texas where we had a 30 minute layover each time. For whatever reason, JetBlue flew the E190 both ways. Can't remember the registrations of both aircraft though.

A good few times, certain I’ve flown a few EI A320s more than once as well as one of their 330s. Flew a FR 738 twice on the same day over to LGW & back. Primera Air 738 DUB-PMI & the return a week later, flew the same route a year later on their 737 OY-PSF.

I just remembered another one: in 1990, I flew up to SFO from ONT on a 733 in the morning, then took that same plane home again that evening. What made that flight stand out for me was that we were sitting in the bulkhead seat, which had a flip-up arm rest so you could bring out the service tray. The top of the armrest was broken and just sitting on top. They had fixed it for the evening flight. Unfortunately, I do not remember the registration number.

I just started logging most of the registrations not long ago (even if there are some older ones, like those AA), so I have only found those:

CS-TTN - Airbus A319-111 - TAP Portugal - 01/2018 (both)
CS-TTO - Airbus A319-111 - TAP Portugal - 05/2017 (both)
EC-LVQ - Airbus A320-216 - Iberia Express - 06/2014 (both)
EI-DHP - Boeing 737-8AS - Ryanair - 10/2016 (both)
EI-DHX - Boeing 737-8AS - Ryanair - 01/2016 and 12/2017
EI-EKB - Boeing 737-8AS - Ryanair - 01/2016 and 07/2016
EI-FIP - Boeing 737-8AS - Ryanair - 01/2016 and 11/2017
HA-LYU - Airbus A320-232 - Wizz Air - 12/2017 and 01/2018
N173AN Boeing 757-223 - American Airlines - 08/2012 and 03/2013
OO-TEA Embraer ERJ-190STD - TUI Airlines Belgium - 12/2017 and 01/2018

So there at least 10 planes that I have flown at least twice.

Btw does anyone knows how to find old regs (when you have the flight number and date?). That would be interesting to add to my log.

A lot actually! This doesn't include tag flights or same/next day return trips. In every case the plane operated other flights between my trips on it.

B-KQT a CX 777 on HKG-SFO and HKG-EWR
G-EUXD a BA A321 on FCO-LHR and LHR-MXP
G-EUXF a BA A321 twice on FCO-LHR
JA742J a JL 777 on NRT-JFK and NRT-SYD
N103NN an AA A321 on LAX-JFK and JFK-LAX
N717AN an AA 777 on JFK-LHR and MIA-LHR
N721AN an AA 777 on LHR-JFK and HKG-LAX
N723AN an AA 777 on SYD-LAX and twice on JFK-LHR
N772AN an AA 777 on ORD-PVG and FCO-JFK
N812NN an AA 737 on DFW-LGA and EWR-DFW
N972AN an AA 737 on DFW-EWR and ORD-EWR
VH-EBG a QF A330 on JFK-LAX and SYD-MEL
VH-EBO a QF A330 on SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD
VH-OGH a QF 767 twice on MEL-SYD
VH-OGM a QF 767 on SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD
VH-OGN a QF 767 three times SYD-MEL and twice MEL-SYD
VH-OJS a QF 747 on SYD-LAX-JFK and twice JFK-LAX-SYD
VH-OQB a QF A380 on MEL-SIN-LHR and LHR-SIN-MEL
VH-OQC a QF A380 on SYD-LAX and LAX-SYD
VH-OQH a QF A380 on HKG-SYD and SYD-DXB
VH-VOT a VA 737 twice on MEL-SYD
VH-VXL a QF 737 twice on MEL-SYD
VH-VXE a QF 737 twice on MEL-SYD

Considering SYD/MEL is my most common route it's not surprise I have done it on the same plane a few times. What does surprise me is MEL-SYD is repeated on 5 frames whilst SYD-MEL is only repeated on one

Re: Ever fly on the same plane twice?

Flew CC-AFX, a Sky Airline A319, between SCL and ZCO and five days later I flew on the same plane. Probably not that surprising. What's funny is that I also got the same pilot for both flights, but the rest of the crew was not the same.

The only one I can confirm is B-5970, a CZ Skyteam livery A330-300.

I've probably flown on more CZ A330s or SQ 77Es multiple times, but not noticed.

Yes, but just once (I think). About the time CO downsized and eventually eliminated the MD-80s, they were mainly operating out of Houston and one or two other places. I'd fly them Hou-Cle and back several times. I do believe I flew the same one both ways on trip. Weird, I don't remember the reg, but I do remember the exact same tear or stain on the carpet, which one would assume would be unique to a particular aircraft. Those old Mad Dogs were great rides, and I do miss them.

KLM B744 PH-BFB on the same route AMS-LAX as KL601 on June 22nd 2010 and again on August 18th 2014

DL A333 N801NW flying BOS-AMS-BOM as DL124 and DL446 on March 21st 2015 and March 22nd 2015.
The same aircraft that flew BOS-AMS ended up being the connecting aircraft for AMS-BOM. This was not the original aircraft to fly to BOM but there was an aircraft change at AMS and I ended up on the same aircraft again. But the AMS-BOM leg was delayed by a couple of hours due to a problem with the aircraft which was perfectly fine when it flew BOS-AMS

Not only have I flown the same plane twice, I've flown it twice within 3 days and I even sat on the same row. Not in the same seat, that would have been too perfect.

Anyway, last sunday I flew Ryanair FR9923 Eindhoven - Pisa on EI-DCY and when today I flew back from Pisa to Eindhoven on Ryanair flight FR9926 what plane was waiting for me? EI-DCY, the same one I had been in just before. Only the first time I sat in seat 10C, this time I sat in seat 10A. Maybe I wouldn't have noticed if not there was a tiny bit of the paint scratched off at the panel just below the window. I noticed that on the outbound flight and noticed it on the return flight as well.

I've managed the same Easyjet A319 twice in a day a few times. At the time it seemed they were using the same aircraft on the Early and Late BRS-GLA rotation (with it doing a couple of European rotations inbetween)

I've also had Etihads A6-ETF twice

Since I wrote that reply I can now add QR A380s A7-APB, A7-APC, A7-APD and A7-APF to the list

Another one to add to my list..... QR 788 A7-BCW MAN-DOH twice.....

Since I last responded I have tried to go through and find registrations for my flights...no easy task and I've got maybe 30% done. Surprised by the multiple hits in a few cases such as random AA MD80s, UA 757s and Easyjet who I have only flown twice yet was on the same A319 a few days apart.

I know I've got more multiple hits on BA's 777s and 747s as I have taken equivalent to more than 100 flights on each, so at least one flight on every aircraft, though as noted below I've hit quite a few more than that average.

I've not included flights on private and corporate aircraft (King Airs, Lear 60s etc.) where I've been as passenger and in some cases I know I've taken at least a dozen flights on one aircraft. I think that's cheating :D
