Have you flown the same aircraft with different airlines?

Mon Mar 13, 2017 10:09 am

Who here have flown the exact same aircraft (not type, but individual airframe) with multiple airlines?

I flew N961AT both with FL and now with DL. The closest I've come outside of that were TF-FIR and -FIN, which I've flown both in Loftleidir Icelandic c/s and with Icelandair (many many times, 12 on 'R and 27 on 'N). However, Loftleidir was just a brand and the aircraft was operated by FI:

I flew a Philippine Airlines Express A320, which came from Air Phil Express. I rode the same plane 4 times twice on a different airline. Does that count?

I flew ZK-SJE as both SJ Freedom Air and NZ AIr New Zealand. I also have an ATR72-500 operated by Cebgo and Cebu Pacific, which is more a technicality than anything. I have come close with FL/DL 717 and PAL Express/Air Phil Express as well but not identical aircraft

I've flown N767UW twice - once with USAirways MYR-CLT back in 2012, then again in 2015 2 days after the USAirways / American integration from CLT-DCA. Probably counts as cheating though, since it had yet to be repainted at that point!

Several spring to mind....
A320 c/113 as YU-AOD Adria Airways and as OY-LHD Danish Air Transport while operating for Blue1 over 20 years apart
L410 c/n 871813 as HA-YFG B.A.S.E and as OK-RDA Van Air, both operating for Manx2
MD80 c/n 53347 as SE-DMD with SAS and also as LN-RON with SAS too
MD80 c/n 49438 as SE-DFY with SAS and also as LN-ROW with SAS too

Good thread

Haha it gets in on a technicality! ;)

I flew that same aircraft on DCA-TPA in 2013:

Another aircraft I've flown! BWI-TPA back in 1999. A real co-incidence as I only flew 5 times with US, and 2 of those aircraft have been mentioned in this thread!

D-ACNH and D-ACNO: formerly Eurowings, now Lufthansa Cityline. Ok, basically both were operating on behalf for Lufthansa and just got between within the subsidiaries, but still counts.

So I have a somewhat unique one given the time frame, I first visited the USA in the early 1970's and while most of the domestic trips we took were on Western Airlines we took a trip from SFO-LAS-LAX with one of the sectors being on a DC-9 of Hughes Airwest, This was my first ever trip on the DC-9 and it would not be until 2003 that I ever flew on a DC-9 again this time a NW -9 from DTW to CMH and recorded the details for later inclusion in my log book only to discover that it was the exact same aircraft. Still to this date and most likely forever the only 2 DC-9 flights I ever had

Does a take over count? I flew my namesake (along with numerous other B737-476s and B737-376s (VH-TJ*) and A300s (VH-TA*) in both TN/Australian Airlines colours and then, after 1993, in subsequent QF colours.

I flew on N1474D (an American F100) from DFW to OMA in July 1999, and by some chance I managed to fly it again as OE-LVG with Austrian from CGN to VIE in May 2015. I came close with N376NW, which I'd flown with Northwest in 2009 (but already painted in the Delta livery), but it got swapped out for another DL A320.

I flew on N563SW twice...once on a DL-branded flight and once on a UA-branded flight. Does that count?   Both SkyWest. That's the only plane on my list that is on different airlines.

Kind of - I flew Virgin Blue (in Pacific Blue colours) as VH-VUD, and several times when it was operating as Pacific Blue as ZK-PBG.
