Admittedly the concept of EZY to New York or Dubai is a bit far fetched, but with a modified 320 or 320neo is doable I think (thinking about BA 318 LCY/JFK)

Maybe Stansted to New York is possible by Jet2, they recently started flying out of Stansted and they got the aircraft for it (757). They've flown to New York before, although that was Newark instead of JFK.

Going by how others try to justify a route, I propose this.

Qantas B789 service between Tamworth and Nashville. The justification...both cities like country music and Tamworth has a country music festival. That route is completely under served.

SBN-BOS Last years DOT report showed this the number one connecting market for SBN's DTW and EWR flights with very high demand.

Which DOT report... I looked at Table 6 and got 15 PDEW in Q22016. I've seen it as high as 28 PDEW in peak summer in the early 2010's. Probably not going to happen though charters must happen on occasion (Holy War: BC vs ND etc.)

It is the DOT report on Air Carrier Airports that shows the top in demand city pairs for each air carrier airport. BOS was the top demand city pair from SBN most of last year. Someone brought up the report in the Indiana Aviation topic here on a.net. I was as surprised as they were but SBN's air service development director confirmed it. Now I do not know what basis the DOT uses to show high demand market and I do not know how many connecting passengers per day to BOS SBN boarded last year. However I know of only one market out of SBN that is in demand besides the NYC area and that is DFW. SBN boards 60+ passengers per day to the DFW area. American Eagle would like to come back and serve the market but they presently do not have enough planes or crews to do it.

According to local Delta officials, Delta is working on SBN-JFK to connect with their international bank of flights but they do not have a definite timetable yet.

Not super feasible with the current planes on the market, but...

There are basically no direct West Coast USA flights to Africa. There are really big African communities all up and down the West Coast and Africa is a pretty popular tourist destination. I could even see there being a decent biz market too.

The 777-8 could bring that the fruition, but it might be too much plane for the job. Maybe it'll come along with whatever the next gen versions of the 787/A350 might be....?

Any air route between D.R. of Congo and Rwanda but due to unstable diplomatic relationships (certainly not at the level of NKorea and SKorea), not likely to happen soon :-(

ZUH-NRT (knowing China, they'd probably WN the route, making it stop in Nanning and Wenzhou, too).

Hey guys,

Only one I really REALLY want...
Sydney-Seattle, preferably on Qantas on a Dreamliner but I would be happy if it was Delta and / or Virgin Australia in some form of joint venture.

However, I also like the idea posted above of a Sydney-Chicago service...

And of course, I am massively in favour of the speculated nonstop flights between Sydney and LHR/JFK, preferably on QF 777-8s!!! Sigh! Memo to AJ: please don't order A350s for these routes if they eventuate... (that's the 777 fan in me speaking)

On a very specific local level where I live, I want Qantaslink flights to resume from Wollongong/Albion Park airport...

Cheers

Best post in this thread, YEE hah!

Love Tamworth as it's an awesome place with great memories, but ummmmm... I hate country music, lol
Nashville? Well Keith Urban could be the 'face' of route for QF (but not with his wife, as Etihad has already snapped her up years ago)

Cheers,

All would be good.

But from a selfish point of view: DEN-MAN (ideally UA) would save me some significant time and hassle.

Obviously never going to happen, but I'd even take TK using MAN as a stop between DEN and IST.

Nashville is yesterday....Branson, MO is today. Therefore the route should be TMW-SGF. Perhaps Qantas can do a multi-leg TMW-SGF-BNA similar to their SYD-LAX-JFK. But with an A380, not a B789.

I would love to see:

LGW - HNL. (DY) Presume the 789 is more than capable
LHR - HNL. (BA/UA/VS) Genuinely believe there is a market for Hawaii from the UK, even if seasonally
Flights for 2017:

LGW - HKG - LGW. CX A359
LGW - LAX - SEA - LAX - LGW. DY B789 + AS B737

Things, there might be a market for out of my two home airports FRA/HAM:

FRA-LIM (there should be a market twice or thrice a week on LH JUMP or Condor)
FRA-SCL (as much as I love the LA FRA-MAD service they could go non-stop)
FRA-CMB (there should be a market for Condor or LH JUMP now that UL is out)
FRA-KUL (I can't believe that both LH and MH exited, maybe Air Asia gets back in)
FRA-xxx-SYD (It will probably stay a pipe dream but the return of a direct link would be welcomed)

HAM-JFK (I would love to see Norwegian start longhaul out of HAM or see DL or AA make an effort, it is unbelievable that Germany's second city doesn't have a year-round connection to NYC and none to JFK)
