PER-LHR is number one, but since QF are actually starting it come 2018 now it will have to be (in order of likelihood);
PER-FRA, Lufthansa
PER-HND Japan Airlines
PER-WLG Air NZ
PER-QZQ Qantas
PER-CDG Air France
PER-KIX ANA
PER-AMS KLM
PER-YVR Qantas
PER-SEA Qantas
PER-YYZ Qantas
and
PER-TSE on Qantas even though I bet my life it will never happen

PVU-HNL: I really thought Allegiant would try this one a few years ago with the 752. For now, I'll wish for HA to launch it with A321LR.
SLC-OGG on HA would be cool.

I also want to see one of the US3 back at KBP. I don't care what the route is.

MAN-PDX

Purely selfish reasons. I want to go there and don't want to connect! A Thomas Cook A332 would do nicely with the new longhaul product

[threeid][threeid][twoid][/twoid][/threeid][/threeid]Personally there are several (not in order of preference):

MEL-HND on JAL:
Although already done on QF and JQ to NRT I personally would want JAL to come in and open this route hopefully with good connections as I would like to fly them and HND is a better airport than NRT along with being closer to Tokyo

HKG-SJC on CX:
Realistic option, usually stay in San Jose and anything to avoid USD60+ Uber's from SFO would be nice, also enables the only one stop MEL-SJC routing from MEL if opened

MEL-SJC on anyone:
I know it's a pipe dream but I would love it to happen, that said I doubt it'll happen

MEL-CMB on anyone:
Just to ensure a direct positioning option for all those cheap business class fares on QR out of CMB really

MEL-SFO on QF or UA:
Anything to avoid LAX and a direct flight to SFO would be great for both airlines 787 fleet

DL XNA-SLC on a CR7/9 that hits a SLC bank early enough to end up in the major west coast cities (SEA, LAX, SAN, etc) by 6pm.

I'm a bit of a realist so I'd like to think most of my wishes aren't that far fetched. I would love to have a YYZ-STT flight back. Air Canada used to fly once or twice a week to St. Thomas during the winter months but got rid of it a few years ago. Also I would like to see the runway extended at Toronto-City Center (YTZ) so Porter can get the CSeries in there.

But my number 1 is to have any airline operate commercial flights in/out of Florida Keys Marathon International Airport (MTH).

Gulfstream International (flying for United) had a sizable B1900 operation out of the airport in the early 2000's until United decided to downsize their Florida market. They had as many as 6 daily flights to and from MTH at one point. American Eagle also had flights from Miami on the ATR and Delta briefly had daily flights from Atlanta on the CRJ-100. Then the 2008 economy hit and everyone pulled out, since then the airport has upgraded their terminal and added a US Customs facility. With the tourist industry booming in the Florida Keys hopefully someone will start flights soon, it is a great alternative to Key West, longer runway (5008 ft) and smack in the middle of the Keys.

I've always hoped that Silver would start flights with the Saab340 from FLL, MCO & TPA timed to connect with Jetblue & United flights to fill them along with local demand. The Saab is a perfect aircraft for the market, I think x2 daily from FLL and daily from MCO & TPA would be a great start with maybe an additional daily FLL-MTH-EYW-MTH-FLL leg. And honestly I think Delta would be able to pull off a 4-5 weekly CRJ-200 on peak days, Sun, Mon,Thu, Fri and Sat to compliment their x4 daily ATL-EYW. One can always hope!

If only SAS brought back flights between SEA and CPH, it probably wouldn't be profitable though.

I'll go for one that is somewhat realistic in LAX-PUS on a KE 789 or an OZ A350.

For BUR I think a morning B6 departure to JFK to compliment their red-eye would also be great.

Really??..free to dream a non-stop? ..mmmm.... :-) a fortnightly Pyongyang-Tehran codeshare that alternates Air Koryo Il-62s and Iran Air 747SPs :-)
And which connects onto an onward nonstop CU IL9 to La Havana :-)

Would be a fabulous route but will never happen UNLESS "somebody" is prepared to build an emergency diversion airport complete with ALL facilities to sustain everybody on board until help arrives to comply with the below 60 degree South regulations. Don't count on it any time soon!

Well its free play in this thread anyways, you seem to be the only one so worked up in this thread.

Well I was just pointing out that that particular route is impossible to fly legally on an airliner and will probably remain so. The Antarctic is not like the Arctic, it is MUCH more remote!
You are the only one who is getting worked up!

However, big problem : this route is longer than SIN-EWR... the longest route ever !

LON -> EBB. This used to be a route from LHR -> EBB on the BAW 767, but they ditched it in favour of flights to Bogotà I think. It's a shame as when I go to my homeland, I have to transfer in Brussels on Brussels Airlines, Amsterdam on KLM, Doha on Qatari, or Dubai on Emirates Airlines.

SFO-TLV on UA is almost ideal for me, so this is honestly kinda petty: SJC-TLV. It saves me 20 minutes at best, but I still want it. SJC is actually in Silicon Valley, and tech ties are how SFO-TLV happened, so maybe LY could use its new 788s here.

SFO has almost everything, so much of my wishlist is just adding those routes to SJC.
SJC-ZRH
SJC-FRA
SJC-SYD (keep dreaming, me)
SFO/SJC-VDA (or the future ETM)
SJC-JFK (let's be honest, there's no way SJC-EWR is ever happening, so next-best thing)

SIN - MIA, which won't happen unless there's a significant change in aircraft technology. But I'd be happy with any nonstop East Asia to MIA, to have one-stop service to MIA via the Pacific rather than having to go via Europe or the ME.

I'd love it if DL would relaunch DTW-DUS- I believe it was a Northwest route in the 2007-2008 timeframe. Having now flown to DUS a couple of years ago, I found it to be a vastly nicer place to arrive and depart from than FRA, and much closer to the family members I'm usually visiting. Couple that with the ease of transiting through DTW (especially on international arrivals), and that would make pretty much the perfect route for my purposes.

For me, when I was a kid in the 80's it was flying non stop to the Far East from the UK. Today as an adult, I fly it as a passenger :) - LHR to SIN on a 777-300ER. Otherwise, and I am dreaming here, it would be STN to PEN on an SQ flight, which means I would be able to see my family within a 45 min drive of my local airport in the UK and Malaysia.
