Looks like the -1000 testing is moving at pace. I saw the test vehicle that went to Hamburg on line today but didn't see if it flew home.

That would take us to 3 with two more close to ready. So that would make 5 in Feb.

There are another 5 already on the flightline and which should be ready for March Deliveries.

Well MSN 97 was in paint so it may have been rolled out, and MSN 96 is also in paint and was not much behind MSN 97. We should see it soon.

MSN 94 (OZ #1) also entered paint and should roll out in 2-3 weeks or so.

There are currently 5 A350 compatible paint hangars (C33, C35, C39, L07, L08) and a 6th (L09) is currently being constructed. But I believe one of the Cxx hangars will be retired soon.

Hi Karel, some very interesting updates. Just to appease my curiosity; the Delta frame you've posted the photo of, at what point of the build process is this currently up to? And how far away is it say from RTO testing for example?

It is great to see the production picking pace up but Airbus is still behind delivery schedule. All frames delivered is currently about one month behind schedule and it means airlines has to cover up in their fleet by other solutions. For example Finnair missed their Q4 revenue target due to expensive wet lease of aircraft to cover for delayed A350 last year. Airbus and its suppliers still has alot of catching up to do.

I agree they are still behind but there are clear indications that they are getting on top of it. I still think they will deliver 5 in Feb and there will be at least 7 on the flightline at the start of March. Many of those will have had first flights. Airbus are not yet out of the woods but there are clear signs that they are near the edge of that wood - although there may still be some surprises along the way.

The main problem seems still to be cabin equipment like seats and toilets being late.

Re: A350 Production And Delivery Thread Part 17

by KarelXWB
As per Airbus CEO, the cabin equipment is "under control". We are clearly seeing some result: MSN 91 entered cabin fit around half of January and has just rolled out to the flight line.

Outstanding work has also decreased significantly: MSN 107 and 109 spend about 1 week in one of those tents at the A380 site and are already undergoing cabin fit. The A350-900s will soon move from P18 straight into paint or cabin fit.

Re: A350 Production And Delivery Thread Part 17

I suspect those tents will be used for the initial -1000's.

Agree the production line flow is looking much healthier. A draw down on the backlog and new frames progressing more quickly could make a big impact on deliveries this year.

Is cabin equipment still holding delivery of QRs A350 back, or is the chemistry between Airbus and AAB still a hurdle?
I for one thought QR had orderd more than they could chew, but the lease of LATAMs A350 indicates they actually are short of aricraft.

Leasing from a subsidiary may actually be cheaper and less straining the balance sheet than taking up a new aircraft and starting to pay installments to the manufacturer ;)

On the other hand, if the LATAM cabin stays in, perhaps QR wants to experiment with a Y+ product ?

It was suggested earlier (or in another thread) that QR itself may be delaying delivery a bit, as it is going to deploy a new C class product. Not sure it was confirmed though.

Certainly QR frames are taking much longer to deliver than any other airline. They are forming quite a logjam in TLS so there must be something customer specific holding things up.

MSN #65 F-WWLXV seems to be performing a "Scandinavian tour" https://www.flightradar24.com/AIB07XV/c8e2d10 .
It already performed such a tour on last wednesday. As she is with a full equiped cabin are those flights reserved for Airbus teams, before an ELF campaign ?
Is the programme allready so far advanced ?
