It seems like the push at the end of last year hasn't affected the stream of frames for this year. There won't be many deliveries in January but it looks like it will pick up for February nicely.

I don't know and I don't think there is a date set yet but it is currently in paint so sometime March/April. TG3 is MSN 95 and 94 is Asiana 1 which is
expected for April while MSN 97, which is Finnair #8, is expected to be delivered in March.

Thank you for that info.

So it seems like a six or so month gap between TG #2 & #3.

Airbus must want the same twist distribution on A350-900 and -1000 wings. Common tooling saves money.

But why didn't they get the twist correct in the first place? Airbus must have a relatively inexpensive way to change twist (they did it on A380 and A330 too), or the A350-900 missed its performance goal by a large margin to warrant this retwist.

Afaik with the A340NG Airbus introduced a cnc controlled jig for wing assembly. ( some interesting articles around on that topic. )

Thanks Karel.

I presume at some point this year they will start to go. Current frames coming through seem to be taking much less time from post roll out.

Does anybody know..

- There is still rework going on even they are at around MSN 100 or so. Has there ever been a program (taking the 787 aside) that needed rework for so long? And that on a program that went rather smooth by this centurys standards.
- Is some of todays rework not planed? For example for delayed cabin fit because of short supply?
- Are reworked frames in any form inferior to later frames that didn't need rework? Like lighter, less maintenance,..?
- will they keep at least one tent in case something goes wrong and they need a "surge" station?

And many thanks for one of the best threads by todays standards.. (SCNR)

Just to be clear, it's not "rework". The work being done in those tents is called "outstanding work". Due to supply chain shortages, the A350s leave final assembly unfinished and Airbus finishes them in those tents.

Is it still seats/cabin furnishing that are being behind delivery schedule or is it something else?

Does anyone know if these will be configured with 10 abreast in Y?

Air Caraibes has 9 abreast in Y in their A333s, 3-class total of 355 seats. I wonder how many seats they will have in the A350-900?

Yes it will be 10 abreast and this has been know for ages as I said in my post #1760 above. It will have 389 seats.

Great news! The first A350 ever delivered in January.
While just one delivery in a month is well below the theoretical throughput at this point, we have to remember that the two previous years saw the first delivery in March...

Indeed, but the output pace is expected to be much higher now than it was in Q1 2016. The backlog of aircraft painted and with cabin installed looks very low now. Airbus really need to pick up the pace this month through the whole chain.

There is one A350 at the delivery centre (MSN 70) and another 5 are on the flight line (MSN 47, 72, 80, 82, 84). Looking at recent movements, another 4-5 should move to the flight line in February. A steady output of 5 aircraft per month.

I guess this will in time be confirmed as a January delivery, on the basis that whilst it don't depart from TLS until February, it will have been accepted by CX and paid for in January
