Delivery schedules are unpredictable because QR are the first planned operator. There were scheduled to be 3 deliveries in 2017 but it could be that CX will be the first in service in 2018. Even CX have pushed back their -1000s until after the last of their 22 -900s.

Geoff

Has there been any hints that QR may delay accepting their first A35K?

No. The -1000 was originally expected to be delivered around now, but obviously it is not ready (re: certified) yet which isn't QR's fault. I believe QR said last month delivery will now be in Q4.

QR are not taking their -900s so I think the -1000s are quite likely to be delayed by them once Airbus has them ready.

Four QR -900 frames were contractually delayed so that QR was able to cancel those frames. Unless the -1000 frames are not contractually delayed to the point of cancellation, QR just can't refuse to take the frames without penalties.

Re -1000 in June 2016 Airbus said first delivery had slipped slightly to the fourth quarter of 2017. It is therefore basically on schedule and it would appear the test programme has progressed smoothly with airframe and powerplants performing well. All three test aircraft have been regularly flying and hot and cold climate along high altitude trials completed. Route proving yet to start in earnest but suspect that before this can happen it must reach some qualifying benchmarks within the certification programme. It would be interesting to get a view from those close to the programme as to outstanding milestones necessary to gain full certification.

Regarding Finnair, the CEO said in an interview this week that AY still has the option to change some of the orders to A350-1000, and the first one could be delivered around 2021 if they make the decision.

I hope this doesn`t indicate a very loose weave in the carbon-fibre construction :)

A package of improvements implemented on this frame?

It is certainly odd.

I wonder if they have started rolling some of the -1000 improvements back to the -900 such as composite door frames and revised bilge construction.

Starbucks: allow me to thank you again for the A350 stats sheet, which is the easy part of my post; great job!…

… and also to ask for an update on the monthly activity, and that is the uneasy part: two deliveries are not listed, if I follow well…

I see that with the acceleration of A350 activity, maintaining that page will be somewhat more time consuming. Are you alone in up keeping it?

Any pictures of the parts for MSN 118 arriving ? This will be the first -1000 for CX and will be one of the first -1000s into service. Could be the first if QR continue to delay deliveries.

QR will want the attention of the 1000 series and being the first to operate it. Even though they have delayed some of the 9s, I would expect them to still be the first for the 1000 for the attention factor

Is this "normal" to have that many airline techs on board checking stuff or is it simply because its LH or theyre just able to get that many of their own people there easily from their European bases. I would imagine eg East Asian carriers would find it somewhat expensive to send that many people to TLS or PAE to do such checks

Pretty close off the line with MSN-133 which had the trailing cone and unusual test flight not too long ago.
I'm guessing something was updated around this mark, probably the revised wing twist?

I doubt 25 LH technicians have the required aerodynamic knowledge to contribute anything to Airbus or verify the changing of the wing twist. Msn-133's test flying pattern on the other hand does suggest it has something that requires aero validation by Airbus.
