They're not, slots have been reassigned. IAG's market day presentation made no reference to the A350 at EI in the next few years.

Hopefully MSN 88's RTO will be soon.

Just seen MSN 71 parked over on the other side of the airport by the passenger terminals. Any idea why it would be there?

This seems to be the last A350-900 go CX for some time, isn‘t it? They changed the split 900/1000 (4 more 900) but it is the 1000 for CX from now on.

Thanks, didn't know CX were the first to order the new 1000, by which they probably mean 308t MTOW and different wing.

I don't know if this deservers a new thread, so I put it here : http://www.reuters.com/article/us-emira ... ce=twitter

"Airbus (AIR.PA) is working on increasing the capacity of its A350-900 aircraft...by moving the pressure bulkhead back by two and a half feet and changing the rest of the layout to leave more space for seats."

Interesting stuff. If they move the doors 4 accordingly (expensive option) they pretty much gain one seat row. Since the fuselage is narrowing there, they probably get 2-3-2 for a total of 7Y. If they don't move the doors, they could put 2 more lavs or a few galley compartments behind doors 4 to gain probably 6Y.

And then there is , of course, the question WHY they didn't put the bulkhead as far back as possible from the beginning? Not the first time Airbus moved a pressure bulkhead, btw. They did it for the A310 from the A300 and later the A300-600 got that, as well.

A small update on the Trent XWB engine performance:

The Trent XWB, which powers the A350-900 here at the show, saw its one-millionth flight hour in October, Rolls-Royce says. The engine has had dispatch reliability of 99.4% through October and no in-flight disruptions.

For the same reason Airbus didn't put that new winglet on the aircraft from the beginning. Aircraft improvements are an ongoing process.

Note however that other A350 cabin changes were proposed back in 2015 (slide below).
